Against a backdrop of steadily narrowing credit spreads, there are concerns from some fixed income investors about making an allocation to high yield in the current elevated interest rate environment. We explore the current fundamentals of the high yield market as well as assess the likely outlook from here.

Cathy is a Portfolio Manager in Insight’s European High Yield and Loans Team. She originally joined Insight Investment (a BNY Investments' firm) in September 2012.
She originally joined Insight in September 2012 as a Senior Credit Analyst within the Fixed Income Group. Prior to this role, she worked at Citi where she was an Analyst focussing on high yield and distressed stocks. Cathy has previously worked as a Portfolio Manager at Saudi International Bank (now Gulf International Bank). She began her industry career in 1994 as a Portfolio Manager with AMP Asset Management.
Cathy holds a B Commerce degree in Finance/Economics from the University of New South Wales.

Adrian Mazenauer
Adrian is a seasoned private banker with over 25 years of experience. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Head of Wealth Management at SCB Julius Baer. In this role, he is responsible for executing the growth strategy for the entire front office, overseeing all operations teams and leading the development of the value proposition for high-net-worth clients in Thailand.
Adrian’s extensive experience and deep understanding of wealth management have been instrumental in building and leading SCB Julius Baer as a senior executive since 2020. He has a proven track record of servicing the needs of sophisticated ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs) families in Asia, with over 15 years of direct relationship management responsibility. Adrian is a Board Member of the Thai-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and the Program Director of The 45 Academia. Cholathee Pornrojnangkool is currently the Senior Vice President, Bangkok Bank Wealth and Private Bank where he runs Investment Solutions for wealth management covering products management, Financial Advisors & Investment Counselor, Wealth Academy, Digital Wealth, and wealth projects. Prior to working at Bangkok Bank, Cholathee was appointed to various positions over 10 years at Standard Chartered Bank (Thai) as Head of Priority Segment, Head of Wealth Management, and Head of Investment and Advisory. At Standard Chartered Bank (Thai), he considered to be the founder of Wealth Management business where he set up various division for the business and responsible for end to end from managing investment products, derivatives, insurance, investment advisory, process and governance, system & infrastructure as well as foreign exchange for individual and small business clients.

Cristina Gabaldon
Cristina Gabaldon or Gabs graduated from De La Salle University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy and Economics. She has over 17 years of market experience. She started her career in Unionbank of the Philippines as a portfolio manager and eventually CIO. She then moved to Bank of the Philippine Islands as senior equities portfolio manager and then as Head of Equities of Sun Life of Canada Philippines Inc. She is currently the Head of the Investment Management Division of Metrobank Trust. She is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). She previously served as a board of trustee of CFA Philippines and is currently part of the board of trustees of Fund Managers Association of the Philippines (FMAP), formerly as President in 2023-2024 and now as Board of Trustee for the Market Committee. Daniel Peter is the Chief Executive Officer of Wealth Management Thailand at BNP Paribas, based in Bangkok.
Daniel joined BNP Paribas in April 2023 to drive the buildup of the wealth management business in Thailand. He brings extensive experience in the Southeast Asia private banking industry. Prior to joining BNP Paribas, he was team leader at Credit Suisse wealth management Thailand, and before that team leader at UBS wealth management Southeast Asia.
