Valuations scrutiny in evergreen funds.
The valuations question has become even more important with the rise of evergreen funds. The accuracy of valuations is crucial to determine the price investors come in at, redeem and also what they will pay as fees. But there are still questions around valuations because some believe it’s getting asset managers to mark their own homework and highlights the conflicts of interest inherent in having fees based on valuations.
