Code of Conduct
Citywire Event Code of Conduct for Individuals in Attendance
1. BACKGROUND
We are Citywire Financial Publishers Limited, with registered address 3 Spring Mews, London, United Kingdom, SE11 5AN and company number 03828440 (“Citywire”, “we”, “us”, “our”). This code of conduct (“Code of Conduct”) applies to all attendees, delegates, exhibitors, and invited guests (“you”, “your”, “yours”) to our Events whether online or in person (“Events” or “Event”).
You are required to comply with this Code of Conduct, applicable laws and Citywire policies (including the Event Terms and Conditions), when you attend our Events. We expect cooperation from you to help ensure a safe environment for everybody. We encourage positive participation and inclusion in order to foster a civil dialogue between attendees, speakers, volunteers, and staff members.
2. EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR
2.1. Examples of expected behaviour include, but are not limited to:
- treating all individuals associated with the Event with kindness, professionalism and respect;
- demonstrating cooperation and patience between colleagues;
- respecting opinions that may differ from your own while offering comments on ideas;
- avoiding personal attacks on any participants or those not in attendance;
- exercising good judgement when engaging with social media;
- being respectful of accessibility standards and laws to accommodate all participants in a welcoming manner;
- alerting or reporting any signs of abuse/harassment to us immediately;
- not using illegal drugs or excessively drinking alcohol; and
- not using rude, demeaning or inappropriate language or inappropriate sexual behaviour to others at the Event.
2.2. The Event is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, race, national origin and religion. We do not tolerate harassment of anyone in any form. Sexual behaviour, language and imagery are not appropriate during any Event.
3. UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR
3.1. Examples of unacceptable behaviour include, but are not limited to:
- unlawful, harmful, threatening, defamatory, obscene or infringing acts or acts that facilitate illegal activity;
- threats or acts of violence or acts that promote unlawful violence;
- acts that cause damage or injury;
- harassment;
- intimidation or stalking;
- use of illegal drugs and/or excessive drinking of alcohol;
- disruption of any Event proceedings;
- offensive verbal comments (including those related to any protected characteristic);
- derogatory or unwelcome behaviour (including regarding an individual’s protected personal characteristics);
- inappropriate sexual behaviour;
- inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention; and
- advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behaviour.
3.2. We do not tolerate the above listed behaviours whether you do these at the Event, or online in any context. If you engage in any of these behaviours or otherwise do not comply with this Code of Conduct, we reserve the right to remove you from any Event and/or ban you from attending any of our future Events.
4. REPORTING
4.1. You are expected to comply with this Code of Conduct during all Events, including virtual settings. If you witness or experience any unacceptable, inappropriate or harassing behaviour, please report this concern to us immediately.
4.2. All reports made to us will be followed up and taken seriously in order to protect our participants from further abuse.
