Citywire Wealth Management Forum London 2025
Welcome to the Wealth Management Forum London 2024.
As a year of significant electoral activity around the globe comes to a crescendo, this year’s Forum comes at a time when monetary policy is under as much scrutiny as ever. With investors facing the task of figuring out what comes next, a selection of leading fund managers will be present to share their strategies for navigating an ever-changing economic landscape, and reflect on potential opportunities for investors in the coming years.
We are also delighted to welcome our keynote speaker, Dr Kerry McInerney. A distinguished AI ethics scholar and advocate, Dr Kerry McInerney holds accolades for her research at the University of Cambridge, spearheading projects on global AI politics, co-hosting a popular technology podcast, and contributing significantly to the discourse on AI's societal implications through media coverage and publications. Her work includes the Global Politics of AI project, a pioneering endeavour that delves into the impact of AI on international relations, specifically analysing the dynamics of a US-China AI arms race through a linguistic lens.
As with all our Forums, there is no charge for attending (which is strictly by invitation only) and you will earn up to 3 hours of structured CPD.
Over the course of this Forum, attendees will learn to;
- Assess portfolios in relation to recent economic developments.
- Describe the benefits and challenges of a variety of investment strategies from fund managers across multiple asset classes and themes.
- Discuss in greater depth the societal and geopolitical implications of Artificial Intelligence.
We are very much looking forward to bringing London’s wealth management community together at a time as fascinating as it is important, and we would be delighted to have you with us for this half-day Forum.

Concrete and Cables: The Foundations of our Digital Future
The transition from analogue to digital has been underway for some time, with this only set to continue. Supporting this digital revolution is critical physical infrastructure, the concrete and cables enabling our digital interactions.

What are Corporate Hybrid Bonds and how do they fit into a fixed income portfolio?
The size of the market for Corporate Hybrid Bonds has grown from close to zero in 2012 to over 200 billion dollars – equivalent - today. The issuers are mainly very high quality, ‘household name’ non-financial companies – such as SSE and National Grid – and the structure is relatively investor-friendly. Furthermore, Corporate Hybrid bonds are becoming an increasingly significant part of the major Investment Grade bond indices. Yet, many investors have little understanding of these bonds’ characteristics and often mistake them for ‘Coco’s’. This session will look to explain what corporate hybrid bonds are, why they are currently attractive and discuss how they can enhance the risk-adjusted returns of a fixed income portfolio.
Workshop Objectives:
Understand what Corporate Hybrid bonds are, why they are attractive and how they fit into a fixed income portfolio.

Small Cap Equity Index Strategies with ESG and Low Carbon
We will assess the benefit of a core small cap allocation in the current environment for UK wealth investors. An increasing climate change awareness amongst the younger generation requires solutions that integrate such objectives, furthermore, attention to costs following the persistent inflation experienced, requires cost-effective solutions. The current offering in small cap, we believe, is predominantly active, high conviction, and heavily thematic.
Hence, we propose to explore a solution that instead is based on an innovative bespoke index that, at index fund fees, takes exposure to a well-diversified portfolio of world small cap stocks, integrates ESG screens for an ethical universe, uses specific small cap governance screens as well as both negative and positive low carbon tilts.
Workshop Objective:
The workshop assesses the case for a core small cap allocation and explores a solution to access this in a cost-effective manner that also aligns with ethical and low-carbon goals.

Redwheel Life Changing Treatments – Patient First Solutions
It’s time for investors in health care to put the focus back on patients. Peter Hughes, Fund Manager for the Redwheel Life Changing Treatments strategy, believes too many investors have become distracted by “innovation” as an investment theme in health care and he believes investors can uncover more commercially successful companies if they instead focus on solutions that produce the most life changing results for patients. Peter will explain the patient first approach to health care investing and its core themes of life changing drugs, life changing care and health system strengthening.
Workshop Objectives:
Attendees will learn about the patient-first approach to health care investing and how this differs to other approaches, such as innovation-led.
