Citywire South Africa Retreat 2024
The Citywire South Africa annual retreat is returning to Fancourt this year. Now in its fourth year, we are working hard to present an even more rewarding event in June 2024.
Our aim, as always, is to deliver focused, high-quality content in an engaging format that offers genuine value for the time the delegates spend with us. Over the one and a half days of the retreat, fund selectors will have the opportunity to interact with several leading global fund managers in small workshops for in-depth discussions. This will be supplemented with an outstanding line-up of guest speakers.
The retreat will also be an opportunity to share ideas and insights with peers and discuss the risks and opportunities facing the local investment industry. There will also be plenty of time to socialise and make new acquaintances over dinner or even a round of golf.
We look forward to another successful event and welcoming you to Fancourt in June!
Thank you for your interest in the Citywire South Africa Retreat. The registration has been closed for this event. If you would like to be placed on the waiting list please contact Brett Powell at bpowell@citywire.co.za

Global listed infrastructure – opportunities in an uncertain world
Hear from experienced infrastructure investment managers who will explain how global listed infrastructure provides investors with access to worldwide monopolistic assets that are essential to the stable functioning of society. Lower volatility compared to global equities, inflation protection and portfolio diversification are the benefits of an infrastructure allocation. However, in order to maximise these benefits a tight definition is required when compiling an investable universe.
There is a large amount of investment taking place into infrastructure to enable several mega themes of our time. Themes such as decarbonisation, digitalisation, transport mobility and improved water quality require heavy investments over the next twenty years. Maple-Brown Abbott’s active research based approach has identified attractive opportunities and examples will be provided.
Workshop Obective: Learn about the portfolio benefits of listed infrastructure and the importance of a tight infrastructure definition. Discuss infrastructure mega themes of our time and the current investment outlook
