The Fundamental Case for Crypto in a Diversified Portfolio
Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum get big headlines and breathless media coverage. Is there real potential in the digital assets, and if so, how do you capitalize on it?
We will take an institutional investor’s look at what cryptocurrencies are, what drives their fundamental value and how it can add value to a client's portfolios. This session will examine both the risks and the opportunities, and explore how a carefully managed, targeted allocation to crypto can dramatically improve a portfolio’s risk-adjusted returns. Topics include:
● Crypto 101: How it all works and what makes it special
● Blockchain vs. Bitcoin: Different investments, different outcomes
● The Right Allocation: The true role of crypto in an institutional portfolio
Workshop Objectives: Gain a basic understanding of crypto, the ideal allocation and role in a portfolio
Company Profile: Bitwise is one of the largest and fastest-growing crypto asset managers. The firm is known for managing the world’s largest crypto index fund (OTCQX: BITW) and pioneering products spanning Bitcoin, Ethereum, DeFi, and crypto-focused equity indexes. Bitwise partners with financial advisors and investment professionals to provide quality education and research.

Quality vs. Quantity in Small Cap Equities
We look forward to providing an introduction to Cambiar Investors, our people and investment culture. We will also provide an overview of our three-pronged investment approach that we term QPD – Quality/Price/Discipline.
We will discuss how we apply this opportunistic investment philosophy in the small/smid asset classes, and why a quality-first discipline is critical to generating strong risk-adjusted returns in this segment of the equity market. While we believe a portfolio skew towards companies that possess strong balance sheets and persistent returns/free cashflow is a sound all-weather approach, a bias towards these attributes should be even more consequential to success in a period of tightening liquidity conditions.
Workshop Objectives: Engage in discussion regarding current opportunities within the small-mid cap equity market, and how Cambiar’s QPD approach results in an outsized focus on down capture – which we view to be an essential input to generating long-term wealth creation.
Company Profile: Cambiar Investors is a Denver-based investment management firm, founded in 1973. Our firm is 100% employee-owned, which helps to provide a strong alignment of interests. Anchored by a tenured investment team, Cambiar utilizes a fundamental, price-sensitive investment approach that is best categorized as relative value. Cambiar’s QPD approach is implemented across a select number of domestic and international offerings. We believe that our proven investment approach, coupled with a culture that is based on collaboration and accountability, results in a compelling value proposition that seeks to exceed client expectations.

• Potential to hedge equity or fixed income portfolios
• Non-correlated investment options within a traditional portfolio.

In addition, we will discuss our thematic ETFs investment strategies, which can potentially provide additional diversification and sources of returns within an overall portfolio allocation.

Why Secondaries Should Come First
The global secondary market has grown rapidly in recent years, primarily as a result of the increased supply of capital committed to private investment funds, the trend towards more active management of these commitments, the desire among select investors for earlier liquidity, and the expansion of the sponsor-led opportunity set. Secondary deal volume reached record annual highs in excess of $100 billion in 2021 and 2022 as liquidity pressures, overallocation to private equity, and macroeconomic uncertainty continue to drive secondary market activity. Lexington believes the secondary market is poised for continued growth and is currently undercapitalized for the expected opportunities ahead.
Workshop Objectives: This session will examine the key drivers of the secondary market, the impact of macro volatility on secondary transaction volume, and the benefits of a secondary strategy for investors.
Company Profile: From large institutions to individual investors, each of our clients wants the same thing. To achieve their financial goals. The Rise of GP-Led Secondaries: Focus on Single Asset Continuation Vehicles
GP-Led secondaries have experienced significant growth in the past few years, now representing ~50% of the overall secondaries market. This has been driven by the rise of single-asset continuation vehicles (“SACVs”), as private equity managers are increasingly utilizing this technology as a tool to deliver liquidity in their portfolios and hold onto their best performing assets. This asset class offers compelling risk-adjusted returns with “PE-like” money multiples but shorter hold periods vs. traditional buyouts, while mitigating risk through positive selection bias for assets with a proven track record of performance under the ownership of the incumbent GP. Current market conditions, which have slowed traditional PE exits, serve as a tailwind for SACVs as GPs are actively seeking alternative avenues for liquidity. In our view, SACVs will continue to experience strong growth in the coming years, supported by the large and growing addressable universe for quality buyout assets combined with the low levels of penetration seen today.
Workshop Objectives: In this workshop, we will discuss the benefits of single-asset continuation vehicles for all stakeholders and how ICG Strategic Equity, as a leading pure-play GP-led specialist of scale, approaches this rapidly evolving market

Investing in Resilience: There’s Never Been a Better Opportunity
Sustainable innovation is well positioned to be the top returning venture theme over the next decade, driven by a confluence of new technologies, improving unit economics, shareholder pressure, government regulation and consumer preferences. Private markets are beginning to recognize the growth opportunity that sustainable investments and renewable, resource-centric business models offer, but they have yet to price in the full system-level change we expect to see over the coming decade. We believe traditional portfolio returns will soon fall short of return expectations, and investors could miss an opportunity comparable to that of software in the early 2000’s, if climate-tech and climate-aware business models aren’t integrated into allocation decisions – and quickly.
Workshop Objective: In this presentation, we’ll walk you through the innovations and tailwinds that are driving alpha in today’s market and share our unique fund structure that allows diversified, low-fee access to top-tier sustainable funds and direct investments.
Company Profile: Overlay Capital operates at the intersection of private markets and sustainability, creating custom strategies that span the spectrum from innovation to infrastructure and reflect the evolving needs of today’s investors. Our funds over advisors, family offices, and institutional investors access to some of the market’s most sough-after portfolio companies and infrastructure projects, all with a commitment to superior risk-adjusted returns.

Royce Small-Cap Total Return: Investing at the Intersection of Quality and Value
Small-cap equities have had an anomalous period since the GFC. Normally a long-term outperformer of their large-cap brethren, small-caps have lagged. Currently, relative valuations for small vs. large are at 20-year lows, with small-cap value being the most undervalued equity asset class based on 25-year averages. To us, this represents a historic opportunity for investors as we enter a new paradigm of higher interest rates, persistent inflation, and elevated cost of capital…all conditions that should benefit active quality investing in the small-cap space.
Our quality-value approach seeks to buy high-quality small-cap businesses that are out of favor for transitory reasons. We seek companies with a history of returning capital to investors, something that is highly unique within the small cap space. This approach has historically produced excess returns with a fraction of the volatility of the index and peers.
Workshop Objectives: We look forward to showcasing Royce Total Return’s rigorous and repeatable process that marries the risk aversion of a credit investor with the growth orientation of a long-term business owner.
Company Profile: Royce Investment Partners, is a small-cap equity specialist founded in 1972, offering distinctive investment approaches to address a variety of investment goals. The firm has been managing U.S., global, and international small-cap strategies for over 50 years.
Royce’s investment philosophy centers on fundamentally based, bottom-up stock selection, with an emphasis on discipline and risk management. Royce believes that its strategies are well suited for small-cap investing due to the inherent inefficiencies of the asset class. Critical thinking and a contrarian orientation remain crucial attributes of the thought process, ensuring that investment teams are always looking in corners of the market that others are neglecting while avoiding more crowded or speculative areas. Royce has a seasoned staff of more than 30 investment professionals with a long tenure at Royce and the asset class. Each portfolio manager is encouraged to have significant investments in the strategies they manage ensuring alignment with the clients we serve.

Fixed Income Investing Off the Zero Bound
Since 2007, fixed income markets have suffered from low yields. A succession of financial crises-including the Global Financial Crisis, the European sovereign debt crisis, a global savings glut and the pandemic, have since forced the Federal Reserve to maintain loose monetary policy for more than a decade. Now, the re-opening from COVID, geopolitical pressures, and shifting demand have caused rising prices and an aggressive tightening cycle, disrupting the way that investors have leveraged fixed income over the last 15 years. How should investors allocate to fixed income now that they no longer need to reach for yield? Does it make sense to go back to the same old vehicle to access bond markets, or is there a better way?
Workshop Objective: Exploring new approaches to fixed income investing in a higher rate environment. What is the optimal approach moving forward and what is the optimal vehicle?
