Citywire RIA San Diego CIO Summit 2026

Join us for Citywire’s first RIA CIO Summit of 2026 this June 9-10 back in San Diego. The event will bring top CIOs and investment professionals together at the Estancia La Jolla hotel for a day and a half of in-depth discussions, due diligence workshops, research roundtables, and networking.

Our invite-only event brings together CIOs and investment team members from RIAs and family offices nationwide. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore new investment ideas, learn from leading CIOs in wealth management, and stay ahead of the latest developments in RIA technology.

Building better portfolios with private real estate

In our view, the timing for private real estate is attractive. Commercial real estate markets have repriced meaningfully, creating compelling entry points as values stabilize. Many legacy portfolios remain constrained, underscoring the advantage of deploying fresh capital at this stage of the cycle. Historically, investing early in a recovery has generated excess returns, and we believe the current environment reflects a similar inflection point.
Listed real estate performance, often a leading indicator for private markets, is signaling an early cycle recovery, alongside signs of improving transaction activity. Elevated construction and financing costs have restrained new supply, supporting fundamentals and income growth across select sectors, most notably retail, where resilient demand and limited development are driving improving market conditions.

Workshop Objectives:

This session reviews the evidence behind today’s private real estate opportunity, explains how listed REITs can help identify market turning points, and highlights where selective deployment, particularly in retail, may offer attractive returns. Attendees gain a practical framework for timing, sector selection, and portfolio construction.

Quant 2.0 in Action: AI Powered Equity Exposure

This presentation will explore how Pictet applies its proprietary AI stock selection model to deliver transparent, factor neutral enhanced core equity exposure to US and international markets. David Wright will outline how Pictet’s machine learning models analyze hundreds of fundamental, market, and sentiment signals to identify stock specific opportunities while maintaining benchmark like country, sector, and factor exposures. Designed as low tracking error index replacements, PQUS and PQNT ETFs seek to deliver consistent, compounding alpha independent of market regimes. We will highlight why we believe AI represents an evolution of quantitative investing, not a revolution. RIAs will learn how these ETFs can serve as efficient, cost effective building blocks that combine institutional grade stock selection with the liquidity, tax efficiency, and transparency of the ETF wrapper.

Workshop Objectives:

Equip RIAs with a clear understanding of how AI‑enhanced, factor‑neutral ETFs can replace traditional index exposures, improve portfolio efficiency, and deliver repeatable alpha within client‑friendly ETF structures.
