Citywire Private Markets Forum, Geneva

Citywire is back to Geneva and will once again bring leading fund selectors together for an intense but rewarding half-day forum.

Over the last year, private markets have grown rapidly, as investors seek new sources of income, capital growth and diversification. That’s why we're bringing together top asset management firms to present their alternative strategies, and to explain the ways they’re exploiting opportunities in the private asset realm.

On the 18th of November 2025 we will be hosting a tailored afternoon programme at the Mandarin Oriental with five top fund managers presenting. Following the presentations, you will have the chance to unwind and exchange views with your peers over networking drinks.

The Citywire team is looking forward to welcoming you!

SELECTOR HARD TALK: Private Markets: Shifting the Core of Investment Portfolios. Insights from the Frontlines…

Private markets are no longer a side allocation, they’re steadily shifting toward the core of modern investment portfolios. Persistent inflation, changing correlations between equities and bonds, and mounting fiscal headwinds are undermining the diversification assumptions that underpinned traditional 60/40 portfolios.* For asset allocators, this is no longer a theoretical debate: portfolios are evolving to integrate both liquid and illiquid alternative strategies more strategically, with far greater attention to liquidity budgets, pacing, and governance frameworks.

Swiss investors, in particular, are moving from opportunistic allocations to more structured, strategic integration of private markets**, rethinking their portfolio construction models while navigating liquidity and operational complexities.

This session will drill down into the practical realities of this shift. How are allocations structurally changing, and how is liquidity managed as exposure grows? How are liquid and illiquid sleeves integrated into coherent portfolio frameworks? What are the red flags investors watch for in manager compensation, transparency, side letters, and conflicts of interest? Where do they currently see the most attractive opportunities, and which strategies are less appealing in the current environment?

We’ll also explore the biggest gaps and innovations shaping the private markets space, from secondary marketplaces and liquidity windows to new transparency and data tools.

The discussion goes beyond “why alternatives” to examine how investors are reshaping portfolios for a more complex and dynamic investment regime.
