Citywire MPS Forum London 2025
Our much-loved MPS South Forum is back once again for a third year at the Bulgari Hotel, London on 14 October.
Building on two successful years of this event, the forum will bring together key figures in financial advice from across the south of the UK to meet a range of discretionary managers with plenty of opportunities to network with your peers.
Whether you already outsource to discretionary managers or are exploring it for the first time, we’re delighted to invite you to this exclusive half-day event where you’ll meet a range of discretionary fund managers, learn about their outsourced solutions, and explore how they can empower you in your commitment to holistic financial planning.
We will also be joined by Timothy Bradshaw, whose remarkable journey has taken him from covert military operations to summiting Everest and completing Ironmans. With stories of resilience, risk and high performance, Timothy shares powerful lessons on leadership and achieving extraordinary goals through focus, determination and adaptability.
As with all of our retreats, attendance is strictly by invitation only and delegates participating in the accredited MPS South Forum can claim up to 3.5 CPD hours towards the CII / Personal Finance Society member CPD scheme.
By the end of the event, you will be able to:
- Gain clear, actionable insight into a range of outsourced investment solutions and assess their suitability for different client needs and asset types
- Evaluate how an outsourced investment approach could benefit your firm, and identify practical next steps to implement this in your proposition
- Identify and apply strategies for building personal resilience and effective decision-making under pressure
On behalf of the entire Citywire team, we do hope you can join us and I look forward to welcoming you to London

Keynote Speaker

Timothy Bradshaw
With a background as a former Intelligence Officer and Sandhurst graduate, Tim Bradshaw has worked in high-pressure environments, managing risk, building influence, and making critical decisions. His experience in recruiting and leading agents in complex situations has shaped his approach to leadership, resilience, and strategic thinking. Many organisations face challenges where perception outweighs reality, risk aversion slows progress, and decision-making is left to a select few. Tim explores how teams can overcome these barriers, focusing on resilience, influence, and leadership to improve performance and adaptability. As the founder of Sandstone Communications and CEO of the Sandstone Foundation, Tim works internationally with teams and leaders, providing insights into leadership strategies, resilience-building, and effective decision-making. His keynotes and masterclasses offer a mix of practical strategies and real-world examples designed to help organisations operate.

Transforming Wealth Management: How Unitising Model Portfolios Drives Efficiency and Client Success
The UK’s discretionary Model Portfolio Solutions (MPS) market has grown rapidly, with assets rising by 28% to £123 billion in the year to March 2024. As MPS adoption grows, unitisation becomes key to managing larger portfolios efficiently.
Unitisation offers:
- Improved tax efficiency, especially in taxable accounts like General Investment Accounts (GIAs)
- Cost savings through economies of scale, including rebates on underlying investments and lower fund hosting fees
- Access to a wider range of investments, including ETFs and derivatives
- Simplified portfolio management and clearer advisory fee structures
Join this session to learn how unitisation can help you overcome common challenges and enhance your MPS offering, whether you’re already using MPS or considering your first implementation.
Workshop Objectives:
To illustrate how the integration of MPS through unitisation can drive cost efficiencies, streamline portfolio management, and ultimately maximize client outcomes, we will explore the benefits of this approach in improving customization and operational effectiveness across the value chain.

Evelyn Partners Index Investing: Not all apples are the same
We are often subjected to the old saying “Its like comparing apples with pears” when discussing investment options, but what about when we are looking at a specific investment style?
Even when you are comparing ‘apples’ alone, such as the increasingly popular arena of index investing, it is important to acknowledge there are several approaches, and the need to peel back the skin to better appreciate the propositions suitability.
From its early days, we will look at the growth of index investing and the varieties available to investors. The topic of cost, a crunch issue for many, will be addressed alongside the fact that low cost doesn’t always mean good value for us.
Workshop Objectives:
- Learn about the evolution of index investing
- Identify the ‘core’ index investing approaches, highlighting their characteristics
- Discuss some usage case studies for clients
- Highlight potential ways to squeeze a little more juice from index investing

Value over cost: how to pick the right MPS partner
The MPS landscape has become increasingly crowded in recent years as more providers enter the marketplace. We explain why selecting the right MPS partner is much more than just a cost comparison. We also discuss how the right MPS partner can add a significant amount of value to your business. We believe a high quality MPS partnership goes beyond an investment proposition. It’s about finding genuine
solutions for your business and evolving the partnership through investment cycles and regulatory changes. In a world where every basis point counts, we will explain the value we believe we add.
Workshop Objectives:
- Discuss why value for money and quality of service have become even more important under the consumer duty regime.
- Discuss the importance of continuously developing and enhancing a multi-asset to ensure it can stay relevant and appropriate for investors.

Robust, Reliable, Repeatable: How Evidence-Based Strategies Drive Adviser Value
Evidence-based investing draws on decades of academic research and market analysis to guide portfolio construction. This session will challenge common misconceptions and highlight the core principles of this philosophy – diversification, discipline, and data-driven decision-making – and why they matter for delivering reliable, long-term outcomes. We will examine how these principles can be applied in practice, helping advisers navigate client conversations, manage risk, and build trust through a transparent, repeatable process. Instead of relying on forecasts or market timing, evidence-based investing offers a structured framework for informed decisions and greater clarity over time.
Workshop Objectives:
To challenge investment myths, explain evidence-based principles, and show how disciplined, research-driven strategies support long-term outcomes.
