Citywire Fixed Income Retreat 2025
Citywire’s much-loved Fixed Income Retreat is back.
Join us at the Four Seasons, Hampshire on 27-28 November, where you will get to hear from a range of leading fixed income specialists on the diverse role the asset class plays in our investable universe.
With fixed income yields at historical highs at the start of the year, the asset class continues to remain an attractive avenue for investment. Moreover, amidst market volatility and constant developments in global trade policy, this retreat offers a chance to understand the challenges and opportunities that fixed income could face ahead of the new year.
Kicking off our retreat will be Richard Werner, who is chair in international banking at the University of Southampton, and director of its Centre for Banking, Finance and Sustainable Development. With over two decades of experience in the financial sector, Werner will discuss the state of banking globally, as well as the impact central banks and quantitative easing have on investments and financial markets during an era of monetary reform.
On Friday morning, we will have the opportunity to listen to Sarah de Lagarde, a leading executive and disability advocate. Following an incident in 2022 which left her a double amputee, de Lagarde has used her experience to champion the causes of diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace. With the aid of an AI-powered bionic arm, she has continued to achieve incredible feats, including becoming the first woman with double prosthetics to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, and acting as ambassador for the Global Women in AI platform.
As with all our retreats, attendance is strictly by invitation only. Delegates participating in the Fixed Income Retreat can claim up to 5.5 hours of CPD towards the CII / Personal Finance Society member CPD scheme.
By the end of the Retreat, attendees will be able to:
- Describe the benefits and challenges of using fixed income investments to diversify client portfolios.
- Critically evaluate the role of central banks in shaping the economic cycle and the impact for investment strategy and financial market stability.
- Analyse the impact of responsible AI on diversity, equity and inclusion in the financial industry
We are anticipating high demand for this Retreat, so register your attendance today to avoid missing out on the action.
We look forward to welcoming you there.
With best wishes,
Ebbani Juneja and Ross Miller

What are Corporate Hybrid Bonds and how do they fit into a fixed income portfolio?
The size of the market for Corporate Hybrid Bonds has grown from close to zero in 2012 to over 300 billion US dollars – equivalent - today. Furthermore, Corporate Hybrid bonds are becoming an increasingly significant part of the major Investment Grade bond indices.
