Code of Conduct
Citywire Event Code of Conduct for Individuals in Attendance
All attendees, delegates, exhibitors, and invited guests at all Citywire events (“Events” or “Event”) are required to comply with federal, state, and local laws, applicable Citywire policy, and the following code of conduct. Citywire (“Company”) will enforce this code throughout the Event. We expect cooperation from all participants to help ensure a safe environment for everybody. We encourage positive participation and inclusion in order to foster a civil dialogue between attendees, speakers, volunteers, and staff members.
1. Expected Behaviour
Examples of expected behavior include, but are not limited to:
- Treat all individuals associated with the Event with kindness, professionalism and respect.
- Demonstrate cooperation and patience between colleagues.
- Respect opinions that may differ from your own while offering comments on ideas rather than individuals.
- Avoid personal attacks on any participants or those not in attendance.
- Exercise good judgement when engaging with social media.
- Be respectful of accessibility standards and laws to accommodate all participants in a welcoming manner.
- Alert or report any signs of abuse/harassment to either proper authorities or the Company.
- Avoid excessive drinking of alcohol and all illegal drugs.
- Avoid rude, demeaning or inappropriate sexual behavior to Company employees, members of venue staff or other delegates.
The Event is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, race, national origin, religion, or any other category protected by federal, state, or local law. We do not tolerate harassment of anyone in any form. Sexual behavior, language and imagery are not appropriate during any Event.
2. Unacceptable Behaviour
The Company does not tolerate harassment of any shape. If any participant, attendee or delegate engages in any demeaning, abusive, coercive, discriminatory, or harassing behavior, appropriate consequences will be taken against such individuals. This could result in something as minimal as a warning or more serious as being handled by the authorities. Individuals who violate this policy may be expelled from the Event, subjected to an investigation by the Company, and barred from all future Events.
Examples of unacceptable behavior include, but are not limited to:
- Threats or acts of violence.
- Harassing behavior.
- Intimidation or stalking.
- Use of illegal drugs and/or excessive drinking of alcohol.
- Disruption of any Event proceedings.
- Offensive verbal comments related to any protected characteristic.
- Derogatory or unwelcome behavior regarding an individual’s protected personal characteristics as defined by federal, state, or local law.
- Inappropriate sexual behavior.
- Inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention.
- Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior.
3. Reporting
All participants are expected to observe these guidelines during all Events, including virtual settings. If you witness or experience any inappropriate or harassing behavior please report this concern to the Company immediately.
Dial 911 for immediate medical emergencies or to report a crime. All reports to the Company will be followed up and taken seriously in order to protect our participants from further abuse.
