Panel Discussion

The Thailand opportunity – navigating markets and standing out

As concerns about AI funding and valuations mount and bonds wobble over debt concerns, against a backdrop of rising geopolitical tensions, how should investors position portfolios?

The year has been punctuated by sharp swings in financial markets, but investors who have stayed the course have still enjoyed solid returns. Where are the opportunities now in equities and how should navigate fixed income volatility? What are the best diversifiers and alternative investments to build protection into portfolios?

In an evolving wealth landscape, advisers need to factor in clients’ tax planning needs and currency requirements with access and differentiation.

This session will look at how leading players are navigating markets for clients, the ways in which they are distinguishing their platforms from their peers and using technology, as competition grows.

Local Currency Emerging Market Bonds: Diversification and Opportunities in Global Portfolios

When investors think of diversification, emerging market debt is rarely the first place they look. Yet selected local currency bond markets have historically exhibited low correlations with traditional risk assets, while the asset class as a whole has delivered attractive long-term returns.¹

This session explores why local currency emerging market debt deserves a role in global fixed income portfolios, not just for its return potential, but also for the diversification benefits it can bring to broader portfolios.

1. As of end July 2026, the J.P. Morgan Government Bond Index-Emerging Markets Global Diversified (USD Unhedged) has delivered an annualised return of 7.18% p.a. since inception (January 2003).

Workshop Objectives:

This workshop provides a comprehensive introduction to Emerging Markets Local Currency (EMLCY) investing. Participants will explore the evolution of the asset class, how structural reforms and improvements in governance have contributed to stronger macroeconomic fundamentals, and how EMLCY has become an increasingly established component of the global investment universe. The session will examine why EMLCY is increasingly considered as part of a globally diversified portfolio, including its diversification characteristics and the investment opportunities currently available within the asset class.

Company Profile:

Colchester Global Investors is an independent, global government bond manager and was founded in 1999 by Ian Sims, Chairman and Chief Investment Officer. Colchester manages approximately USD 31bn (as of end July 2026) for international clients across a variety of investment products: Global Bond, Green Bond, Global Inflation-Linked Bond, Local Currency Emerging Market Debt, Frontier Markets and Global Unconstrained Alpha.

Colchester has a singular investment process which is applied in the same way to all the different products managed. We value bond markets according to their real yields (i.e. the rate of return they offer after inflation) and currencies according to their real exchange rate valuations. Both bond and currency valuations are adjusted for the balance sheet strength of the underlying country and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) factors.

Colchester is majority owned by its employees, allowing constancy of purpose and an alignment of interests between employees and clients. The firm is headquartered in London and has regional offices in New York, Singapore, Dublin, Sydney, Dubai, Madrid and Munich. Please visit our website (https://colchesterglobal.com/) to learn more.

Venture and Growth: Accessing the Next Generation of Market Leaders

The next generation of market leaders is being built in private. Many of today’s most innovative companies, especially those shaping artificial intelligence, now reach billions in revenue before they consider an IPO, and some are staying private by choice. Investors who wait for the listing may miss much of the growth. The question is no longer why invest in venture and growth, but how.

The challenge is that returns are concentrated among a few winners, so diversification and manager selection are critical. Access is just as important: the most sought-after companies are often oversubscribed, and getting in typically depends on long-standing relationships with leading managers. Venture secondaries can help, offering a differentiated way into high-demand AI companies that are hard to reach in primary rounds, along with liquidity where exits remain limited. This session explores the venture opportunity and how to approach it.

Workshop Objectives:

This workshop offers a framework for venture and growth investing in the AI era. Participants will examine the key challenges investors face: limited access to top companies, wide dispersion between managers, returns concentrated in a few winners, and long holding periods. They will also see how venture secondaries and co-investments can help address these challenges, from reaching mature, high-demand companies to shortening the path to liquidity. The session also covers why manager selection is critical when outcomes vary so widely, how semi-liquid evergreen structures are opening the asset class to private wealth investors, and how venture and growth can fit alongside existing portfolio holdings.

Unpacking the Infrastructure Supercycle / Opportunities in the Middle Market

Infrastructure is entering a Supercycle. Sticky inflation, , stretched government budgets and the AI race are increasing the need for essential assets, and governments cannot fund that alone. Private capital is becoming central to what gets built next.

While attention has focused on the largest deals, many compelling opportunities can be found in the middle market. Competition for assets is lower, and returns tend to come from building and improving businesses rather than from rising valuations. Drawing on I Squared Capital’s experience as one of the largest mid-market infrastructure investors, this session explores the forces behind the Supercycle, where the opportunities lie, and how the middle market can fit in client portfolios.

Workshop Objectives:

Participants will examine the forces driving the Infrastructure Supercycle, what sets the middle market apart, and how mid-market infrastructure can fit within client portfolios.

Company Profile:

I Squared Capital is a leading independent global infrastructure investor dedicated to the mid-market, managing over $60 billion in assets. Founded in 2012, I Squared has evolved into one of the most diverse infrastructure investors in the world, with investments across power & utilities; transportation & logistics; digital infrastructure; environmental infrastructure; and social infrastructure, providing essential services to millions of people worldwide. Today, the portfolio includes over 100 companies operating in more than 70 countries. Headquartered in Miami, the firm has offices in Abu Dhabi, London, Munich, New Delhi, São Paulo, Singapore, Sydney, Taipei and Tokyo. Learn more at www.isquaredcapital.com.
