Citywire Alternatives & Private Market Forum 2023
We look forward to exploring the role of private market investments in client portfolios. The ability of wealth and institutional investors to invest in long-term, less liquid assets has a key role to play in supporting economic growth and the transition to a low carbon economy. The emergence of Long-Term Asset Funds in recent years is a clear example of a broadening investible universe, and an increasingly friendly regulatory environment, for wealth clients to access investment vehicles in this space.
Whether your clients are already benefitting from such structures, or you simply want to learn more about the opportunities and risks involved, this Forum will be a meaningful addition to your calendar.
Several leading fund houses will be in attendance to provide insight into their strategies in this space, how they're navigating the present macroeconomic environment, and possible opportunities in what is to come.
As with all our forums, attendance is strictly by invitation only and you will earn up to 2.5 hours structured CPD.
Over the course of this forum, you will:
Explore the benefits, risks, and suitability of long-term assets in client portfolios.
Consider a variety of investment strategies from leading fund managers in the space.
Gain insight into private market structures across multiple themes, such as private equity, private debt, real estate and infrastructure.
We are very much looking forward to this event, and we look forward to seeing you there.
With best wishes
RM

The Infrastructure Supercycle: Driving Global Opportunities
We believe we are in the midst of an infrastructure “super-cycle,” as the world looks to modernize infrastructure to meet the needs of tomorrow. Whether investing to meet the staggering growth in data consumption, the shift away from traditional fossil fuels, or the proliferation of e-commerce, these (and other long-term trends) will require trillions of dollars in capital. As part of this supercycle, we believe three main themes will continue to drive significant investment opportunities for decades: digitalization, decarbonization and deglobalization, which we refer to as “The Three Ds”.
Workshop Objective: To explain what infrastructure is; to outline the characteristics that make infrastructure a potentially attractive investment, and; to outline the potential benefits that infrastructure can offer investors.
Company Profile: When Brookfield acquired a majority stake in Oaktree Capital in 2019, it created one of the world’s largest alternative asset managers. Now Brookfield Oaktree Wealth Solutions is delivering the two firms’ capabilities to private wealth investors, in partnership with their advisors.
We are a global network of professionals dedicated to delivering alternative solutions to the wealth market. Our solutions are built to meet the varying needs of individual investors, and they are coupled with market and investment insights based on our unique products and portfolio expertise. Sourcing Income in Private Markets
As yields reprice across global markets, investors can now source attractive income in both public and private markets.
We believe the ongoing volatility resulting from elevated inflation, rising interest rates, and bank retrenchment continues to create a fertile environment for flexible capital providers like us to step in.
In such a fast-changing and target-rich environment, investors need to broaden their toolkit to capture opportunities as they arise.
We’re excited to tell you all about these opportunities we are seeing in areas like Specialty Finance, Residential Mortgage Credit, Commercial Real Estate and Corporate Lending, among others. Importantly, we’ll also discuss how you can generate significant income by broadening your scope to include public and private markets.
Workshop Objective: Delegates will hear from PIMCO on the opportunities in private credit and how the changing macro landscape can enable them to source higher, and better quality, income.
